Reframax carried out the refurbishment of the furnace and the burning area of Vale’s UPSL Pelletizing Plant in São Luís (MA). The team of 320 professionals was responsible for the demolition and reconstruction of parts of the refractory roof of the furnace and 35 combustion chambers, concrete projection in the air duct and fan ducts, wind boxes and downspouts, removal and assembly of three self-supporting walls, removal and assembly of refractories of 89 dry boxes, application of silplate on all walls, roof, and chambers of the burning area.

Works Coordinator Alencar Costa Correia explains that the project reaffirms the company’s expertise in large-scale works, as it was necessary, in record time, to mobilize many pieces of equipment and workers. “Throughout the execution, Reframax always stayed one step ahead, exceeding the client’s expectations, meeting the deadline, and with no accident occurrences.”
